CALL FOR EXTENDED ABSTRACTS:

Original, previously unpublished research results (including significant work-in-progress) or state-of-the-art surveys are solicited in all aspects of systems biology and regulation including:
  • Inference of gene regulatory and protein signaling networks for understanding cellular responses and developmental programs
  • Model prediction of drug mechanism of action and toxicity
  • Pathway mapping and evolution in protein interaction networks
  • Multi-scale methods which bridge abstract and detailed models
  • Systematic design of genome-scale experiments
  • Modeling and recognition of regulatory elements,
  • Identification and modeling of cis-regulatory regions
  • Modeling the structure and function of the regulatory region
  • comparative genomics of regulation.

  • Note that accepted abstracts will be considered as preliminary work, and may be submitted to a journal publication after notification of acceptance.

    DEADLINES

Extended abstracts should be sent by email to recomb-workshop@cs.ucsd.edu. Submissions must be received in electronic form by 11:59pm (PDT) of October 15, 2005 for your submission to be considered. Due to the short turn around time for reviewers, we will not be able to make exceptions to the deadline.

Accepted abstracts will be compiled for a volume of Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html). This will be a single joint publication between the two satellites. Approximately 15-20 will be accepted for presentation at the joint conferences.

    PREPARATION OF EXTENDED ABSTRACTS

A manuscript should start with a succinct statement of the problem, the results achieved, their significance and a comparison with previous work. This material should be understandable to non-specialists. A technical exposition directed to the specialist should follow. The length, excluding cover page and bibliography, should not exceed 10 pages. The manuscript should be easy to read, using at least 11 point font size on U.S. standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper with no less than one inch margin all around. If authors believe that more details are absolutely necessary to substantiate the claims of the paper, they may include a clearly marked appendix, which might be read, at the discretion of the reviewers. An e-mail address for the contact author should be included.
